Congratulations to Gregory Dean stylists, Remi and Sophie who are GRAND FINALISTS in the biggest competition in hairdressing!

The prestigious Loreal Colour Trophy Award is the longest running colour competition in the industry, running for 64years. It gets approximately 650 entries each year, spread over 8 regions. Only the best then make it into the top 35 at the Grand Finale stage.

Our colour specialist Remi and ESA future talent WINNER Sophie knew at the start of this year they were going to enter the award. “At Gregory Dean we are given the opportunity to constantly challenge ourselves. We really wanted to bring something current and fresh to the table. Our design board was cool, urban and chic.”

Talking about finding their model they say “One day Charlotte walked into the salon asking for a change and we knew she’d be the perfect fit for us. She had so much hair to work with and it was all really healthy, just a natural light brown.”

Our colour specialist Remi talks about the inspiration behind her colour creation “I really wanted to achieve a clean, white blonde without compromising on the condition of her hair. I achieved this using premium lightening techniques alongside Smar tbond technology to rebuild the bonds in her hair, keeping it in optimum state. The overall look was a clean white, root to tip.”

Sophie says the thought process behind her chic styling was to show the colour at its best and incorperate something a little different. “Everyone does big and curly so I wanted to do the opposite and keep it sleek.  Styling it straight with a simple braid allowed the colour to really shine.”

The photographs speak for themselves, the end result was a seamless, icy blonde mane. The look was highly talked about, the girls being complimented by other stylists and members of the L’Oreal Academy.

After posting before and after photos to our own Instagram account it went viral and was reposed by many others across the industry gaining more than 40 THOUSAND likes on Instagram in total!
